With the BET Honors Awards red carpet debuting, artist Raheem Devaughn got a chance to catch up with our very own blogger Dana Williams. His new album Love, Sex and Passion is coming out soon. Check out what he had to say about it.
How does it feel to be dropping a new album?
“Love, Sex, and Passion comes out February 17th and it feels good to have new music coming out. You know in this music business, I’m a testament that artists can still sell records; that being independent is the new major.”
How do you want your music to be interpreted from your new and current fan base?
“It’s really not up to me to determine how my fans interpret my music. I really more so want them to just enjoy the music and pass it along. You know this is a culture. I want people to understand that R&B and Soul music is not just a sound but it’s also a culture, just like Hip – Hop. And, I think it will forever thrive. When you listen to my album I hope it gives you that retro, futuristic, 90’s music feel.”
